Has been and have been are talking about the present. It has been awhile. They have been here before.

Was is past tense. It was fun.Anyone advise me condition of usage ';was'; %26amp; '; pls reply with example better to understand?
';Was'; is the past tense of ';is';.

';Has been'; is also past tense (I think it is called the subjunctive?) and is the singular form, ';have been'; is the first person singular or the plural form.

You are really asking for a full lesson in English grammar!

I'll give you some examples:

She was ill yesterday.

She has been ill for 2 weeks.

I have been ill for 2 weeks.

The two children have been ill for 2 weeks.
