Were you successful in registering your land without a lawyer at the NLA office in Jamaica? please advise.?

I am in the same boat, I am located in Canada and I have only heard nightmares about lawyers in Jamaica. I reviewed the NLA website and it seems fairly straight forward I just want to ensure that I can proceed without a lawyer. Were you successful in registering your land without a lawyer at the NLA office in Jamaica? please advise.?
This is ONE time i will agree with Bob D.Were you successful in registering your land without a lawyer at the NLA office in Jamaica? please advise.?
Lawyers all over the world have bad reputation...true enough...but trying to register land ( your 1st biggest investment ) without using one is asking for trouble. The nightmare you'll experience if things are not in order outweighs your desire to not use one !

I suggest you fly to Jamaica ( after the holidays ) and ';shop'; for a good real estate attorney. Get a contract written that stipulates what exactly he will do for you, a timeline to get it done, and a price for those services....even lawyers can be sued for negligence.

I am worried about my future, career-wise, please advise?

I've done the schooling, college and now I have just started a gardening business. It is hard, I feel I am way over my head, and I haven't the experience to tackle a lot of jobs. All I have is hard work, and the tiniest bit of know how. I don't know how long I want to do this. What else is there? That is always the problem - 'better the devil you know'. Writing and journalism? Film? These are the other two options in my head. Ahhh so much uncertainty and worry. Thoughts?I am worried about my future, career-wise, please advise?

Malaysians: I'm visiting Kuala Lumpur next weekend...any advise on what to wear? How's the weather?

Other information would be great help too. :)

Thanks in advance.Malaysians: I'm visiting Kuala Lumpur next weekend...any advise on what to wear? How's the weather?
Just typical summer wear will do, i.e. T-shirt and short pants. You don't need any jacket or sweater. Anyway, please do not dress up to too ';sexy'; for your own safety during night time as there are recently some sex crime cases. Do you have anyone to bring you around in KL? Well, personally because I don't recommend you to take the taxi in KL unless you really need it. A place where you must visit is the KLCC, especially during night time. I find the best thing to do in KL is hanging around at those shopping complex like Sungai Wang, Lot 10, Starhill, Mid Valley, 1 Utama and KLCC. You may like to hang out at Bukit Bintang Walk and Bangsar for pubs and discos. One thing worth mentioning, which is watching movies in KL. It is claimed to be the cheapest movie ticket price in the world! If you have got extra time, you may travel to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre or Sunway Lagoon Park at Sunway. Also, you may travel up to Genting Highland for casino and theme parks (you may need to wear a long sleeve shirt for this place). Anyway, do you know that Malaysia is a food paradise? You can find all sort of food in Kuala Lumpur! =D

since u'll be coming here next week...remember to bring umbrellas %26amp; raincoats...

here in malaysia, is raining almost everyday...and according to the weather news....its will continue until november....

so maybe u have to sightseeing around KL using taxi...easier..but costly.... depend on the taxi driver...sometimes they like to take advantages on the weather n foreigner...
It reaches about 32 celcius here, so do wear light clothes. Do have sun tan lotion ready because we do have hot sunny days. Tank top with no sleeves and bermudas is alright, except if you plan to visit religious places. We have heavy thunderstorms in November (usually in the evenings), so be sure to bring a small umbrella.
tank top, short, flip flop too...if you can find a tiny portable pocket fan it will be good. also get a pack of baby wipes..during the day you might need it..it's hot and sweaty. ..
you dont have to wear ';conservative'; clothes. is not like an arab country.
oh, It has been raining in the evening here almost every day, otherwise, it'll b sunny, so, a tank n shorts will b fine..

Be careful of taxi drivers, make sure they use the meter..The best is to travel around with the Light rail transit :) easy n convenient :)

hope u'll enjoy your stay here :)
it's hot, wear thongs ok...
You can wear comfortable clothes such as T-shirt, pull, skirts and jeans. the weather is nice in Malaysia, especially Kuala Lumbua.
Just bring your summer clothes is enough. Do NOT bring your winter clothing as you might find yourself sweating like mad. Also don't forget to bring an umbrella and a cap. The weather can be either hot or raining.
hallo. if you from west of the world then you wil feel very hot or warm here next weekend. sure rain also. wear cotton clothes better cos of heat u sure cannot stand one. weather very hot also rain lots.

careful of taxi peple cos they sure charge u high high rate one. make sure got meter first befor u get in.

ya la, this not arab country so no need to cover all u kno what i saying?

hope your stay in kuala lumpur sure wil be very good one too. don worry about food cos got many kind of food here also western food.

welcoming u to malaysia. keep cool. u sure need it. ha.ha.ha.
well Malaysia is hot but not so hot.you can wear t-shirt and pants/jeans.just wear simple casual.no need to wear sweater unless you felt cold.
hahahaa...

u all guy give a gud answers...

I dont have a contract and my boss says he'll only pay 1 months sick pay. Advise required?

I am currently on sick leave from work with stress. I have provided my employer with the relevant doctors note which tells me to refrain from work for 2 weeks. This is the second 2 week note that I have handed in. The note runs out this Thusday.

During this period I have been paid full sick pay by my employer. However, I received a telephone call from my manager earlier today to tell me that this Thusday will be the end of my sick pay entitlement (1 month) and I will only be paid SSP from that point until my return to work.

I dont have a contract as it is only a small company. Is it right that he can stop my sick pay and put me on SSP or am i entitled to full pay for a longer period ?

I cannot affor dto be off work only receiving SSP and feel that it is forcing me back to work.I dont have a contract and my boss says he'll only pay 1 months sick pay. Advise required?
I do have a contract and I only get 7 days sick before SSP. It's within their rights I'm afraid.I dont have a contract and my boss says he'll only pay 1 months sick pay. Advise required?
Yep. he can put you on Statutory Sick Pay
I'm sorry but your employer is quite within their rights to do this, they have no legal obligation to continue to pay you at your normal rate of pay.

Most small employers only pay SSP from the start - its at the discretion of the company.

Although your employer should of provided you with a written contract with the first two weeks of your employment by law.

I run my own business and we employ 7 people - when my staff are off sick we will pay full pay if the company can afford to at the time but if not then they only get SSP, but this is stated in their contract of employment.
Hi,

SSP can be paid for 28 weeks %26amp; then you can apply for Incapacity benefit.

It depends on your living circumstances ( i.e. if you are single, have children ect) as to whether you would be entitled to income support, council tax %26amp; housing benefit.

It is down to a contract if an employer will pay anything over SSP..

Hope this helps.
Go to your local Citizens advice Bureau, They will be able to provid eyou with all the latest information.

Have a look for your nearest office. Also check out this link.

http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/life鈥?/a>
As stated on the Government website:

';If you take time off from work due to illness, your pay depends on the terms of your contract of employment. These terms may be in writing, verbally agreed with your employer, implied by 'custom and practice' or a mixture of all three.

If your employer runs their own sick pay scheme you should be paid what you are due under that. If you aren't entitled to anything under a company scheme, your employer should still pay you Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) if you're eligible.';

Has anyone else been paid for similar periods or longer? If they have then you are entitled to get the same as they have set a precedent but in general I think you are screwed. Sorry
you are lucky that youve had a months pay. most companys only pay ssp unless you are on salary. your employer has every right to stop your pay and revert to ssp.
you should be lucky you are getting paid when you are not working. i don't know why that have to pay you at all, you could be just using your vacation time. sorry you're so stressed, that sucks, but maybe it's your job
You are lucky to get a month's pay! In fact, lucky isn't the right word - that is a fantastic benefit! I know alot of unionized people who don't get that. The company I am with gives us 7 workdays.

Instead of wasting time trying to take money out of your small company's wallet for work you are not doing, concentrate on getting back to work! It sounds like if you don't get better soon, you will be REALLY stressed out when the bill collectors start to call.

As for ';forcing'; you to work for your paycheck, you are lucky he or she hasn't replaced you. It surprising that a small company can function without an employee for a month. Here's a thought for you to ponder: How many more days do you have to be out before they realize that they don't need you??
if you get back to work you might make a miraculous recovery///your employer has no legal obligation to pay you
Yes, your employer is fully within his rights. If you do not have a contract, you have been lucky to get 1 month's sick pay. many companies wouldonly pay 1 week sick pay before putting you on SSP, if you don't have a contract that specifies a longer period.

The Government view is why should your company continue to pay you if you are not working?
Employers are not obliged to pay sick pay. They are however legally obliged to issue a contract of employment within 13 weeks of the employment commencing...so it may be that your employer is breaking the law.

Being a small employer is no excuse for being a bad one.

    Hello Fez,

I work with income property every day and just roughly reading through your potential investment there is not enough information to tell you wether the investment is good or you should just walk away. But one thing I can tell you is get an updated inspection, a lot can change in 2 years and needs updating. We need to know how you are acquiring this property, Cash or Down payment and loan. If the property produces positive cash-flow, then you are well on your way.

Need some advise - eye pus - is it transferable?

My colleague's kids have eye pus and I am scared I might get it if she gets it. She wears lens so she said she may not get it. I am not sure if its true. Please advice.Need some advise - eye pus - is it transferable?
Wearing contacts or glasses will not prevent her from getting an eye infection. Yellow mucuous discharge is a symptom of an infection therefore it is contagious. Wash your hands alot and use hand sanitizer and do not touch your eyes after handling common things around the office without washing your hands first. Also, as cute as they may be don't hold your collegues children while they are infected because they have cooties right now.

I commute 20 miles per day in traffic. I would like to buy a beginners motorbike. Please advise anyone?

I already use a Honda 90 but I am seeking to purchase a proper bike either new or second hand. Thanks:)I commute 20 miles per day in traffic. I would like to buy a beginners motorbike. Please advise anyone?
If you have your full license (in UK) then maybe a Suzuki SV650, or a Bandit 600. I've got a sports bike, but I'd love a second one for commuting, and apparently the above are ideal. If you haven't got your full license, then maybe a 125 trailie. Or if you're not worried about your image, maybe a Honda CG125, or Yamaha SR125.

em_d: Vespas are NOT motorbikes mate, they're SCOOTERS. And its ';easy to ride'; as opposed to ';easy to drive';...I commute 20 miles per day in traffic. I would like to buy a beginners motorbike. Please advise anyone?
Kawasaki Vulcan EN500. Not too big not too small and priced right either new or used. Lots of goodies you can add on later if you like cheaply.
To drive anything larger than 50cc you will need a cycle license. That requires taking a test.

There are lots of great 50cc street worthy and street legal bikes.

If the advantages of a larger bike outweigh the disadvantage of getting a license, then your choices expand exponentially.

I would avoid all Chinese-made bikes like the plague. I have bought two, and haven't been able to get either one working reliably. I am about to take them both to the dump.

No reputable dealer or service person would work on them. They called them 'junk' and unfortunately they were right.

Get a name brand new bike from a local dealer who will stand behind it. You will pay a bit more, but you will have a reliable vehicle that will give you years of pleasurable use.
get an enduro. They are good on gas, cheap insurance, and the price tag isnt that bad either. They are also fun, cause when you ride it on the street you swear it should be illegal, it just feels funny riding a dirt bike on the street. Also, if you get bored, you can just rip off the road onto some trail and have a blast. Either way, they are probably your best bet.
get a cruising bike 350cc or more some saddle bags and i front faring . any jap bike will do .
Since you are already riding a Honda then look into an old Honda CB400 or something similar. They are a nice begginer bike, reliable engines and powerful enough to cope with any road conditions. Good mileage too. It would be pretty cheap to pick up an 80's model. The riding position is upright enough for a comfortable commute. I get the impression most owners of these bikes really like them.
try a gs 500 suzuki or a ninja 500 good luck.
You don't say much budget wise.... for traffic, I'd buy a Vespa. The new 250 are the business... and they look damn good. It's a motorbike with history, easy to drive and very practical.

Can you advise me on great places to live in New Zealand?

I would like to know about the different areas of New Zealand- i want to be very close to the beach, not too far from the city for a bit of culture and nights out, but with out the feeling of living in a city...oh dear i may be asking a little too much...basically i want eutopia!!!! Thanks in advance for your help :)Can you advise me on great places to live in New Zealand?
Erm, yeah, I probably agree with the others!! Up north is where it's all happening, so Tauranga is in a brilliant position. You've got Auckland not tooooo far away if you want a bigger city and so many fab beaches, plus the Coromandel and Bay of Islands if you fancy travelling a bit further. Only trouble is, it's a bit expensive up there!!

My only other suggestion would be to live in some where like Paraparaumu....it's on the coast at the bottom of the North Island, just a train ride away from Wellington (which is the BEST city for culture, and the prettiest!!). Beaches here aren't as good as up north though, but you can't have it all!!

So are you thinking of emigrating to NZ then? I'm very jealous!!! I lived there for year and I've never been to such a beautiful and varied country with lovely people too. Good luck! Can you advise me on great places to live in New Zealand?

that's ok! Forgot to mention Dunedin, that's a pretty cool place! Small but lots of culture %26amp; nice architecture. Fab beaches nearby. I go along with Dakota. Tauranga would be my choice given where and what you want, Tauranga is only 5-10 minutes from a great ocean beach at Mt Maunganui or Papamoa and some of the semi-rural areas around there are niceand yet only a few minutes from the city centre. I think the population of the area is about 100,000 so not too small and the night life is good too.
ok i wasnt going to answer this .... but i read the answers... and i have to agree on Queenstown... no beaches, but right by an awesome lake... always lots to do in the outdoors, great people.
I would go with somewhere in the Bay of Plenty along the East Coast of the North Island. i am from Whakatane in this area originally. Whakatane is a nice town right on the coast with the sea and rivers it's awesome. it is only an hours drive from here to 2 major cities if you need to do anymore shopping. Tauranga and Mt Maunganui are great places too. Check out this website and see what you think. The weather here is pretty awesome too.

    http://www.bayofplentynz.com/

P.S I live near Queenstown now and trust me it's not the sort of place you would want to live. Far too expensive among other things it's really just a tourist trap.
Christchurch..A little\big place on the south island. Very clean and green. Iloved it there
Don't know about beaches but Queenstown rocks! It's a major ski type resort in winter and just cooool in summer.

I love Ashburton which is a teeny town a short drive from Christchurch. Railway running through the centre of the town. Might be a bit quiet though.

Really anywhere in New Zealand gets my vote.
Christchurch, beautiful city, the nicest people I've ever met. I stayed there a week in 2000 and yearn to return. Would very much like to move there.

Anyway, I've never shaven my head before, so when a stylist comes and shaves my head, will I get cuts on my head, and will it hurt? And if I get a cut, will the hair grow back in that spot? And will the skin feel same as the rest of the skin ion my body? I know this question may be weird, but will my bald head grow dandruff???

She'll probably then apply shaving cream like you would to your legs, and shave your head.

    Don't WORRY!

    It shouldn't hurt!

I don't think a bald head will get dandruff, and anyways, you'll be cleaning it directly everyday.
You really should share your answer, so that you could get better help.

Thanks Please advise how to respond positively?
Following are some tips on personal interview:

    * Do your homework

Preparation always creates confidence. So the important thing to an interview is to be well prepared. In this you have to consider two things:

    # You must prepare yourself practically for the interview.

    # You have to gather information, which is useful during the interview.

    * Don't waste time

Don't waste time discussing things that are already indicated on your application. You have to discuss the points, which are not in resume but shows that you are eligible for the position. You have to discuss the strong and positive points about yourself.

    * Presentation

Keep in mind that you never get second chance to make your first impression. Presentation plays an important role while making first impression. I am new to boating on the Ohio River in cincinnati. Can anyone give me advise?

Ah, the others are exaggerating a bit. I know a number of people that have a good time boating down on the river. My best advice would be to remember to stay way out of the way of the barges. They're big, they're bad, and they may not see you if you get in front of them.I am new to boating on the Ohio River in cincinnati. Can anyone give me advise?
The best thing to do is take the safe boating course thru the Coast Guard. If you're an experienced boater, you can get navigation charts from this link:

Get a tetanus shot before you go to the water. Ask your doctor if you should get any other vaccinations. It's safe to assume that you will be boating in raw sewage.
    don't fall in...

well, no worries if you do, you'll grow a third arm to help in swimming out!
    Yes, don't do it!!!!

If you must, watch out for the logs floating just under the waters surface.

Any advise for opening a bar in Spain?

I would like to open a small bar in Valencia, Spain in September when i move there. My girlfriend lives there. How easy is this? what kind of money am i looking at? What can I do for finance?Any advise for opening a bar in Spain?
A good friend of mine has had several bars on the costa del sol for about 5 years now. This site may help you with guide price for property and leases. (i am not sure if it covers Valencia however) www.vivaestates.com

The bar trade can be very up and down, when the big football matches are on he can take 鈧?000 per night... but i have witnessed myself as being the best and only customer during some winter periods.

I think the lease to his first bar was approx 鈧?5K for 10 years, but when he sold that first bar i imagine he would have re-couped most of that.

There is obviously lots of red tape in starting a business in any country... your lawyer or ';Abogado'; should be able to guide you through most of this, clearly speaking spanish is of enormous benefit... In spain, ';stuff'; just gets done, when it gets done, there is no urgency in anything that occurs in spain to do with paperwork and red tape... Also you will need to get ';residentia'; and a social security number.

Having said all that, my friend has certainly enjoyed the last 5 years in southern spain. All the best to you in your new venture !Any advise for opening a bar in Spain?
Well, i'll come and work there for free for you!
How strong is your Catalan? I do not know the particulars of Spain and the Community of Valencia (that particular province). You will have to deal with not only the finances, but local government regulations, visas, property law, and a lot of stuff. I would contact some professionals in the country to find out what you are looking at.
Have a look at this article, it may give you some food for thought:-

    http://www.costadelsol-vacationrentals.c鈥?/a>

Also if you are looking for finance then approach a Spanish bank for a mortgage, they are quite ready to lend to foreigners these days:-

    http://www.costadelsol-vacationrentals.c鈥?/a>
Dont bother ..The only bars left for sale , are the ones that the spanish dont want...If it had any potential it would not be for sale, one of there family would have bought it... Speaking from experiance

What advise can you give to parents of how to bring up their children?

    You gave them life,

Their own life. What advise can you give to parents of how to bring up their children?
that's a big question! first time parents do not get a rehearsal most of it is instinct, much of it is so wrong, it is usually when the second child is born that you know what you could have done different with the first one, that's hindsight! it comes to us all (hopefully) it gets even better when you are a grandparent because you can look back and see things more clearly, but we all have to learn. i made so many mistakes with my firstborn lovely son, i was so young and i had no idea how to raise him, what a fool i was, thankfully he turned out to be a very good young man. what advice can i give you? do not give out idle threats to your children, mean what you say, for example, clear up your toys or they will be given to the charity shop, do not say that and not do it otherwise they will know that you will give in, its hard but it works believe me,

Please advise, slight gas leak near fire place key hole?

I have a natural gas fire place, I am not using it, however at times, I get strong smell of natural gas around the gas mechanical key hole? I have a 4year old at home and currently keeping him away from playing around that area.

Who could be a right professional that I need to call to fix this? I live in Atlanta, GA. I need to address this at the earliest. Thanks a lot for you help/advise or any suggestions you might have!!!Please advise, slight gas leak near fire place key hole?
There is no such thing as a ';slight'; gas leak. Although it does take the right combination of air and natural gas to burn or explode, any suspected gas leak should be dealt with immediately. Call the Gas Company or the Fire Department next time you smell it.

If your fireplace is designed to be used with either wood or natural gas, it could be that at times the draft of the chimney is taking the gas out of the top of the flue. These so called ';convertible'; fire places are required to have the damper remain in the open position at all times, so a strong wind could carry the odor of the mercaptin (the chemical used to give natural gas its “rotten egg” smell) out the top of the flue. That doesn't mean the leak goes away.

If a leak is detected, call a plumber to correct the problem; and be sure that there is a shut-off valve installed just for the fireplace. The valve you have by the fireplace is more than likely listed as a “Control” valve; along with that, Code requires a listed “gas cock” or shut off valve.

Keep a window or two near the fireplace open when you smell “gas”, and call the Fire Department. Please advise, slight gas leak near fire place key hole?
If your home is only four years old and you bought it from the builder, you probably are covered under the original warranty. You might call the builder and see if he would like to take the opportunity to ';fix'; the problem before you hire a gas guy to do it and then taken the builder to court. (Gas leaks can not wait you you can fix first then seek legal redress later.)

You might in the meantime try to trace the pipe back to the main. There may be another cut off valve for it and you can shut it off there.
Ok, I work for the gas company in Tampa, and you should NEVER ever smell gas from any of your appliances.

You need to call your gas company immediatley and tell them!!
call gas co asa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now !!!!!!!!!!!!! still smell gas leave house call 911 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is very dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a joke your son is 4.
No such thing as a 'slight' gas leak.

    Have it serviced.

Any licensed plumber should be able to replace the bad component.
call a plumber not gas co. and you might want to turn gas off to be safe!!
Plumbers generally do gas line work.
Call the gas company and ask them who they recommend or look in the yellow pages
Call the gas company ASAP. They will come out for any gas leak.

I need help with a school project. Any advise is good.?

Next week during history class my group has to teach the class about the age of exploration. Our presentation has to be around 40 minutes long and go into the details of the subject matter.

I've never had to do anything other than a 5 minute presentation and I need help with idea on how to keep the class engaged. Both my partners aren't very helpful other than that they want to play games (which isn't bad but we need to be somewhat serious).

Any advise will go along way. Thanks!I need help with a school project. Any advise is good.?
Well since your partners like to play games and you want your audience to be interactive, have them design a game that the class can play but will still teach the elements that you want. You might want to give a short presentation first on what you are going to teach them (the history facts that you want them to learn) and then the game could see what material they retained. Other than that to engage the audience you should always ask them open ended questions to keep their attention and then make sure you give them the correct answers. An open ended question is a question that they cannot answer with a one word answer.

Good luck!I need help with a school project. Any advise is good.?
The age of expolation had a lot going on all over the world, so if you could get a world map and then show the events and voyages on the map as you go, that would help stretch the presentation. Categorize your presentation by focusing on a number of voyages or presentations, breaking the 40 minutes into smaller, easier to handle segments. To keep the class engaged charts, handouts, and powerpoint go a long ways.
I think a trivia game at the end will be a good way. Split the class into 2 teams and bring in prizes for the winning team. Make the questions about your presentation. Not only will this keep the class engaged during the boring part of your presentation but it will take up a lot of time. Just make a lot of trivia questions.

Also a funny video is good. I do that a lot for school presentations. Make it funny and the class will pay attention. Another good time-filler.
There are two approaches - Serious and light-hearted

Serious - make a power point presentation. Have handouts with 3 slides per page and they can take notes as you give them the information.

Light Hearted - Have you seen the game show Jeopardy! Play Jeopardy with the different categories - English exploration, Spanish, New World, South American, etc. The categories are endless. Have bells or whistles to signal. have different groups play against each other. You will be giving them the information, and stimulating them to come up with the question.
Don't just sit there stating facts, ask the class questions like ';does anyone know what this is?'; and what not. I know when i have to sit and listen to a long presentation, the more involved they are with the audience, the less boring it is

  • Guys, advise me how to make a man comfortable around me when I don't eat?

the problem is my husband won't eat alone when we are in park or museum. usually only junk food is available in such places. so, I would rather skip the meal, because I stick to diet and care about my body. but he doesn't want to eat alone. so, he is hungry and looks at me as it's my fault. I end up eating wrong food because of this silent pressure, which is not good. what should I tell or do to avoid eating junk food?Guys, advise me how to make a man comfortable around me when I don't eat?
Bring something with you that you can eat. An apple carries well, and also a cheese stick is good, or slip a kashi into your bag.

You can always find something, even if it is iced tea or water that you can enjoy along with him. Don't act self-righteous about the food, just get something and put a smile on your face and enjoy his company. You do not ';have to'; eat junk food. You also don't ';have to'; discuss that decision with your spouse.

they told m i have to go for arrivale stamp in FRRO.but they told m i dont need?dont know what to do now??Plz advise m i need arrival stamp on my dupplicate passport?airline told m without this i cant travell?
The only way you should be in this situation is if you were stamped upon entry in one passport, lost it, got a new passport through your nearest embassy or consular services, and now the new passport does not have a stamp. This should be easily resolved with your boarding pass stub(s) showing your flight arrival on the date your (now lost) passport was stamped. Take it to the nearest police or immigration official with documentation from your embassy when you received the new passport, and you should be set to go.Plz advise m i need arrival stamp on my dupplicate passport?airline told m without this i cant travell?
what do you mean by duplicate passport? You will have only one passport valid at a time. Only one stamping is required. The arrival stamp is needed on that passport. In case you have multiple passports (like old and new), then you should carry all of them together. In total you should have arrival stamp on your passports.

Please advise me on Attractions which are near Niagara falls and at a driving distance of 4-5 hours.?

    Dear Members!

Can you please let me know of the attractions near to Niagara Falls. I plan to spend 3 days in Niagara and want to explore around. It can be driving distance also, since I plan to rent a car. Appreciate your help and thanks to all in advance :)Please advise me on Attractions which are near Niagara falls and at a driving distance of 4-5 hours.?
A four to five hour drive in each direction (150-250 miles each way) would literally catch hundreds of attractions. Such an answer would be much too large for YA and a three day trip. However, there is much to do just within Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The Table Rock complex (basically the closest you can officially get to the cataracts in an official capacity) is the site of the Journey Behind the Falls attraction and the Niagara's Fury attraction. Anybody who goes to Niagara Falls has to ride on The Maid of The Mist at least once. I would add a mention for Marineland, the Butterfly Conservatory and Bird Kingdom. Each furthers the nature theme set by the falls in their own way.

How about eating a meal up in either of the Skylon Tower's windowed restaurants and finishing with a visit to the observation deck? The meals in the Revolving Dining room start at $25 for lunch and $40 for dinner. The Summit Suite Dining Room's lunch buffet is $28 and the dinner buffet is $35-$40. Those prices include free admission to the observation deck (normally $12.95), so that's worth about a third of your meal price. Another meal choice might be to eat at Elements on the Falls in that previously mentioned remodeled Table Rock complex. They boast that they are the ';Closest Restaurant to the Falls';. Their lunches start at $14 and dinner ranges between $18-$30. When considering these prices, keep in mind that you're at either place for the spectacle and the surroundings as much as you're there for the food.

Clifton Hill describes itself as ';The Avenue of Fun'; at Niagara Falls. It has many attractions, shops and restaurants. Some of my favorite stops would be the SkyWheel, the Great Canadian Midway, the Guinness Book of World Records Museum and the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, but there are many more attractions, shops and restaurants to choose from.

Along with both the city's casinos, there are other attractions and shopping nearby both of them. It's a short walking distance from Fallsview Casino to the Skylon Tower, the IMAX Theatre, the Daredevil Gallery (newly renovated for 2009) and an official National Geographic store. Casino Niagara is a short walking distance from an official Coca-Cola store (complete with a full-service ice cream Coke fountain), an official Hershey Chocolate store, the Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Clifton Hill. A 2-3 mile trip heading away from the falls on Lundy's Lane will find Canada One Factory Outlets and its 40 brand name (mainly fashion) stores, if bargain, name brand shopping is your thing.

Ultimately, deciding what interests you is a personal thing. However, I hope these listings give you enough choice to make that decision for each and still have a great trip. Please advise me on Attractions which are near Niagara falls and at a driving distance of 4-5 hours.?
    That's a pretty tall order.

a four to five hour drive from Niagara Falls will get you to an awful lot of attractions.

The Falls itself has many attractions like the Maid of the Mist, Jet Boats, SkyWheel, two casinos, two water parks and Marineland just to name a few.

Within half an hour of the Falls you have Niagara on the Lake filled with loads of wineries and historical sites.

Then there is Zooz Safari Niagara, a place to check out all kinds of the world's wildlife.

Fort Erie has a horse race track, St Catharines has old port Dalhousie with its classic carousel and Canada's oldest Jailhouse (which has been converted into a bar).

Going a couple of hours from the Falls you can get to places like Canada's wonderland, Toronto and London Ontario.

All these places are good to see but really the list is endless.
In Niagara Falls, there are a few casinos, the Falls, Marineland, wonderful parks, and other touristy things. Up the road in Niagara-on-the-Lake there are plenty of vineyards that you can take a tour of, a butterfly conservancy, and the Shaw festival. Toronto is only an hour and half away, there is plenty of things to do there. There is plenty to do.
They do have a casino in Niagara Falls, I used to live there. If you have a passport, you could skip across to Canada, visit Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum. Actually, then too, there's the Aero Space Muesum in Niagara Falls. Rochester, NY is not that far, they have a big mall there. Niagara Falls is not that far from the nearest Indian Reservations. Yeah, just click on Niagara Falls.com and find the right web site and that will help you as well. Good Luck and have fun. The hotels' front desk people should be able to provide you with a list of attractions you could go to within that 4-5 miles range.
If you are coming in October you must go to Kitchener for Oktoberfest a bavarian festival which lasts 10 days

A pipe broke and flooded my house all weekend. Who can give me the best advise on what to do to make it new ag

I have seen the from just mopping the floor to cutting the sheetrock 4' up to dry all the water in the walls. One of the big issues these days thanks to all the lawsuits is black mold. Many insurance companies are making water damage, black mold, etc as extra riders to the policy. Hopefully your insurance takes care of it. Best of luck.A pipe broke and flooded my house all weekend. Who can give me the best advise on what to do to make it new ag
I only hope you have ';home-owners'; insurance and, they know you weren't negligent.A pipe broke and flooded my house all weekend. Who can give me the best advise on what to do to make it new ag
Contact your home owner's insurance company and file a claim. Depending on how bad the water damage was, you'll need to replace everything that you cannot salvage. Not sure where you live, but make sure you check for places where mold can grow and clean those out. If you want to make everything new, I would replace all the flooring.
I know someone who this happened to; a pipe burst in the winter when the heat went off and flooded the house. The repair bill came to over $50,000.

Depends how bad your flood was. Contact your homeowners insurance.

Please advise if you use expensive hair conditioners?

on which brand would help myhair the best-it is colored treated and very damaged-no shine ,breakage etc.thank you--i cant afford to just try them all --Please advise if you use expensive hair conditioners?
Try Joico's K-Pak. That's exactly what it's for. Use it once a week to get some strength back in your hair. Wash once or twice a week, and I would suggest Joico's ';Silk Results'; for other shampooing. Leave conditioner on after shampooing and wrap your hair in a hot towel right out of the dryer until the towel is completely room temperature. Don't use any more heat or chemicals on it and get regular trims. The K-Pak and deep conditioning should help a whole lot though. Please advise if you use expensive hair conditioners?
    HI

my hair is currently about forty inches long from the top of my head. I trim it two inches every six weeks and only when the moon is full or nearing full which encourages growth.

I use the cheapest crap on the planet because each time I shampoo and condition I use about a quarter cup of conditioner.

The best ones I have found while growing it- I have had my hair this long FOUR times in my life-I am 5'8'; and it is about to the center of my thighs-is

VO5 original shampoo %26amp; cond, TreSemme, and the WalMart ripoffs of Pantene and Nexxus.

The secret is that when you finish a bottle you never go back to the same brand.

Your hair is smart and will become dull when it is accustomed to the waxes and chems in the product.

    AVOID parabens, they alter hormones!

For treated and color damage the only real solution is to cut and start over.

Although I have had great success with Queen Helene moisture tub products the real secret is NO JOY

    no color

    no heat

    no treatment EVER

never wash or rinse in HOT always as cool as you can stand it.

The sorrriest prod so far is white rain purple color it sucks the cond does NOTHING the coconut is ok
I recommend the Sunsilk line. I have blonde hair so I'm using their blond shampoo and conditioner, and I find that the color is magnificent.

Honestly, I've tried really high end shampoos and conditioners, and I keep reverting back to ones like sunsilk and herbal essences. I find that a lot of my friends use the herbal essences 'none of your frizziness'. I've tried that one too and had great success. My hair isn't damaged and I shampoo, straighten and blowdry my hair daily. I also dye it monthly.

Both of these brands are ridiculously cheap, so I find them to be exceptional.

I do use Fructis Sleek and Shine Hair Serum occasionally, and highly recommend it if you want super shiny and soft hair.
    dumb blond by bedhead

it is for color treated hair and saved my hair when i got it bleached
    I use Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner :D

    It works wondersss.
I used Matrix for a long time and then Redken. Now I use John Frieda brilliant brunette and my hair is fabulous, even my stylist said so last week she just kept complimenting me. Though John Frieda is not that expensive...
Pureology -worth every penny. use a small amount and buy in the salon.

Do you advise buying bus tickets ahead of time in Manzanillo area in very eary Dec.?

Are tickets avaib;e other than bus depot?Do you advise buying bus tickets ahead of time in Manzanillo area in very eary Dec.?
I personally go to bus station one or two days in advance prior to actual departing date and I constantly use the ETN bus to hop around from Mexico City to any city that I have to go to.Do you advise buying bus tickets ahead of time in Manzanillo area in very eary Dec.?
in manzanillo, no. but i also recommend it because often the POSTED schedule is very different than the actual schedule. last time i was there, i showed up for a 6am bus that was up on the board, but didn't actually exist. THEN the next bus which left a full 12 hours later, was cancelled...and the night went downhill from there.

so yeah, go a day or so early and buy the ticket, just so you'll know exactly what time to show up. the station is not air conditioned and it has very little to eat...no hot food at all. you don't want to sit around there longer than you have too.

ETN goes to manzanillo, but they have very little choices for leaving manzanillo...so, although they are the best, depending on where you are going, you may need to opt for another line. the next best would be the primera plus/flecha amarillo lines.
As a travel agent I try to recommend to all of my customers that they should buy and reserve their bus tickets to go to any city that there is in the Mexican republic so that they can get the best seat of the house.
No ... not to get a seat. I you want the best choice of seats you may visit the bus station a day or two early. ETN is the only company that may have alternative ticket offices. Ask around when there.

Need advise for my very shy 12 yr old son. Any confidence boosters?

My son is entering high school and has a very difficult time making new friends. He's a great, good looking, intelligent kid but lacks self confidence. Any advice, books, or tips to help him become more independent and confident. He has a lot of potential but I'm afraid that he will get pushed aside. He has always had a sensitive side from day one. He also has a 8 yr old brother who is the life of the party.Need advise for my very shy 12 yr old son. Any confidence boosters?
    Some tips from a teacher:

    * Let him choose one or two activities outside of school, where he will meet new kids in a nonthreatening environment. Working on a hobby, art, or sport together will help him build up his social skills with less pressure. Summer camp is also a great opportunity to meet kids who haven't already labeled him as ';the shy kid.';

    * Encourage him to volunteer; he's old enough to help out at a day-care center, a home for the elderly, a hospital, or an animal shelter. Helping others will contribute to his sense of self-worth and also allow him to meet other good kids.

    * Don't push him too hard. If he begins to feel that he must make friends in order to make YOU happy -- as well as himself -- he will feel even more anxious about the process.

    * Some boys do take longer to mature than others; if he has even one or two true friends, it's all right to let him just develop at his own pace. If he doesn't have anybody at all to spend time with, though, then he might benefit from a few sessions with a counselor who can help him find ways to reach out.Need advise for my very shy 12 yr old son. Any confidence boosters?
Try to find something that your son is good at and praise him often. Tell him what a great kid he is daily, how lucky you are to have him as a son and so on. Let him know you think he's smart.
Encourage your son to get involved in extra curricular activities that interest him. Often, too much emphasis is placed on fitting in, being popular, in High School. If your son is actively involved in activities outside of the school environment, he will be less likely to ';need'; to fit in. Help him to define and make quality friendships, rather than concentrating on just making friends. This is a life skill that will take him well beyond High School. Teach him that education is an opportunity, and encourage him to concentrate on his grades. Show him that High School is just a few short years in his life and encourage him to keep it in perspective. And know this: the best confidence booster of all is for him to feel loved and accepted for the intelligent, good looking, shy, tentative, great child he is.
Try to get him to join in an extra curricular activity. Like band or sports. Even the most shy or nerdiest kids found confidence and friends in band or chorus. Maybe even independent sports like tennis or golf or even karate. Or team sports like football, basketball, softball, etc.

If he's purely a book kid, maybe a kids community service organization like the 4H club, or a kids book club maybe?

After school activities seem to be the best and almost sure fire way to bring a kid out if his shell.

Good luck, it's so nice to see a concerned parent of a teenager not just ignoring a social problem that many kids have to face. I wish my mom recognized that when I was a kid. [I'm 28 yrs old w/ 9 month old baby]
Is there a Father in the picture? If not, check out the Big Brother/Big Sister program. A good mentor could really help out.

You could also have him start having more control of things around the house to biuld up his confidence. Have him plan a weekend for the family. Or re-decorate his bedroom (paint, rugs, posters) and he sets of the work schedule to have it completed with the rest of the families help. Give him something that he can see from beginning to end and then feel good about himself that HE made it work.

If he really like computers, music, drawing, bikes - what ever, find someplace that he can take a class with other 12 yr/old that have the same interest. If he likes Music - guitar or even DJ/mixing. There are YMCA Mountian biking clubs or even skate boarding clubs. I remember being 12 and feeling like I don't fit in anywhere, but for me, it was sports that got me involved with other kids in HS. For my brother, he got into Art and working with wood. Encourage his interests and help him develop them. What will help is if he becomes knowledgable about something and other people ask HIM question (how did you do that??) - it's a great confidence builder.

Good Luck - the Teenage years are coming fast!!
High school is difficult for everyone. Encourage him to join clubs, groups, sign up for sports. Try to find outside groups from school as well that he may enjoy. Keep him active and he WILL find a good friend and they will be buddies for life. High School is where you make your life long friends. The more he is involved in the more people he will meet.
Unfortunately he is at the special age, its important to reassure him, praise him, get him involved in a team sport or chess club, get him into Karate or Jiu Jitsu, they're great confidence boosters

    as well.
jus give him time, don't try to push it on him. he'llbreak out of his shell in his own time. and it's not always bad to b shy. jus think when ur 8 year old is in high school, i bet he'll b more of a problem then ur shy boy :)

Fibromyalgia advise PLEASE! My mother is suffering from what we believe?

to be Fibromyalgia. She is going to see a Neurologist (probably her 5th doctor) tomorrow but is scared that the doctor will also just give her some medicine which after all these years hasn't helped. Is there anybody here who has had relief from FM and what did they do? Also, can a Neurologist help with this kind of situation and what can my mother ask her?

Fibromyalgia advise PLEASE! My mother is suffering from what we believe?
it is a disorder of the central nervous system--but most docs--including rheumatologists and neurologists are incompetant when it comes to fibro---

do you have anyway of knowing if this is a fibrofriendly doc--

when i had a seizure and head injury-i tried 4 neurologists--until i stopped telling them of my history of fibro--than they were willing to talk to me.....otherwise they say--your fine/stay active--and I was not fine--i have permanant brain damage.

i've tried acupuncture, aromatherapy, chiropractic...a couple years ago I was eating good and exercising--and I got worseFibromyalgia advise PLEASE! My mother is suffering from what we believe?
Acupuncture helped a little bit, so did pilates. Honestly you have to just work through the pain sometimes to get a bit better, as much as it hurts you can't try and live life by stopping because it hurts. With that being said, know your limits and triggers, get plenty of sleep, sometimes sleep is the only way to avoid the pain. She should ask her neurologist if he can help with it (I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist, but I don't know if things have changed in the past 6 years), but once it's been diagnosed her primary care doctor should be able to follow up on it with her. You just have to keep in mind that what works for some people, doesn't work at all for others. Medications like lyrica and neurontin can only go so far. Just keep trying different forms of alternative medicine (like acupuncture, yoga, biofeedback/neurofeedback). There's not going to be any definitive answer that's going to help her out, you have to experiment. I've tried all kinds of therapies, medications, physical activities, supplements, dietary restrictions and the like, and it's just hit and miss.
My fibro was diagnosed by a rheumatologist by testing (poking) for the pressure points. He put me on some meds--which helped only a little. The symptom that sent me to my general practitioner (who referred me to the rheumatologist) was difficulty breathing. The referral was made after tests ruled out heart disease (I was only in my 40s at the time, although I have been diagnosed for about 10-15 years now).

A friend with fibro loaned me some newsletters (I wish I could remember the source) and I read about some promising research with CoQ10, and some with magnesium. After taking 100 mg of CoQ10 for only 3 days, I could breathe better.

Now I am taking calcium and magnesium for bone health, and several other supplements for general health, and I feel much better until I get under a lot of stress. I have had to learn to pace myself to no longer burn the candle at both ends.

A book I found helpful was: All About Coenzyme Q-10 by Ray Sahelian, M.D. although it did not specifically talk much about fibromyalgia. Possibly one of the reasons, though, that we feel so drained of energy is a problem at the cellular energy source. For that, apparently, CoQ10 seems to be helpful.

Please advise what error message connection dropped by IMAP server means ?

Well to tell you what exactly is going on I'd need much more information, but basically IMAP (aka Internet Message Access Protocol) is an email protocol. If you're getting an error like the one above it means that your connection to an email server was disconnected which will prevent you from downloading new messages.

  • I have synthetic hair extentions, and need some advise.?

It says to wash them every 6 wears with normal shampoo, then let them air dry, but to spray in a leave-in conditoner that is designed for synthetic hair but I can't find any anywhere. I can order online, but I would like to have some sooner. What about using a kids tangle free spray-in conditioner or something along those lines. I have Infusium at home. Would that be ok? Or can that damage the hair? HELP!I have synthetic hair extentions, and need some advise.?
You can use any spray-in conditioner. As it is synthetic, there's not much you can do to harm it, except using hot tools of course. So go ahead!

I'm searching for an attorney that would advise me on what to do about my taxes, and mortgage payments.?

My home depreciated in value by $20,000.00, but my mortgage payments went up over $650.00. Can someone out there help me out? My name is Oscar.I'm searching for an attorney that would advise me on what to do about my taxes, and mortgage payments.?
This is the loan you chose, so you obviously knew it would raise on a schedule. Your home value really does not effect you unless you are selling. Unless the bank has committed some fraud against you I am not sure what you need an attorney to do. You need a Real Estate attorney though,I'm searching for an attorney that would advise me on what to do about my taxes, and mortgage payments.?
    Nope.

That is just a fluctuation in the market. The bank doesn't have to legally take any losses regarding that.

An attorney cannot help you. You made the choice to get an adjustable rate mortgage...a low rate was never guaranteed.

A home's value, is also, never guaranteed to go up.

Need advise on how to transport static-sensitive computer parts.?

I am moving to another country, and I know I can't take my whole chassis with everything inside to the airport.

I will take the motherboard, RAM's, CPU, Video Cards, etc. etc. in my luggage. But I need to know if I have to buy special Anti-Static bags, or would any plastic bag make the trick of protecting those things against possible static?Need advise on how to transport static-sensitive computer parts.?
Plastic Bags are a big no no they can pass on a nasty charge which will destroy the hardware. Even with anti-static bags you will need to be very carefull with them as they are very delicate. A better but more expsensive would be to mail the computer to your new address whole. Computers come whole so we know that they can be transported whole. Protect the case will foam etc.

Legal advise about moving my mobile home?

i own a mobile home but it's on my mother's property. she will not let me move it with her consent. is there any legal way she could stop us from moving it off her land. and if so how do i go about removing itLegal advise about moving my mobile home?
Get yourself an attorney. Anyone coming on her property without her consent could be charged with trespassing. She could sue for any damage done to her property. Try your best to work this out with your mother. Any chance of your mother buying the mobil home? If not then I repeat get yourself an attorney.*Legal advise about moving my mobile home?
your better of leaving it . it is costly to move one.. you need a semi to move on and also you would need permits from the state to move an oversize load and will run into the thousands

I am overweight, not grossly 280 lbs., and there is occasional numbness in my arms. BP around 150/90. No history. This was a very odd episode. It went from my head to my toes and these bubbles just popped all over. Please advise, do I use the word ';seemingly'; correctly in this sentence?

Regarding the letter from ACD No. 234 dated 25th January 2008, addressed to Mr. Andrew, we'd like to inform you that we only received the first page out of ';seemingly'; 10 pages.

Therefore, we'd like to ask you kind help again to send us the rest of the letter. Please advise, do I use the word ';seemingly'; correctly in this sentence?
skip the word and state what you mean.

blah blah blah, we only received 1 page. Please resend the letter in its entirety. Please advise, do I use the word ';seemingly'; correctly in this sentence?
    no
It didn't seem to be 10 pages; it seemed to be 1 page.
    no

    it should be:

we only received the first page out of the expected 10 pages.

seemingly means you are uncertain. in the above paragraph you are sure you should be expecting 10 pages
I think so, ';seemingly'; meaning that there seemed to have been 10 pages meant to be received.
take the word out and it sounds fine... the first page out of 10 pages
