I am having this sharp pain in my side, what could it be. Kidneys, appendicitis? Please advise?

it has been happening on and off for about a week. Sometimes it's really painful.I am having this sharp pain in my side, what could it be. Kidneys, appendicitis? Please advise?

When I had an attack of appendicitis years ago I was in college and thought it was food poisoning. Dragged myself to the infirmary and the doctor rushed me to hospital for an emergency appendectomy.





I felt very nauseous and sweating and dizzy, as I recall. No pain in the side, maybe in the abdomen. Never had a kidney stone attack but have heard others say it is a bad pain in the side. I am guessing a kidney stone or something else. You should search the web and get a better idea. Then call a nurse and get more specific. Unless you have good insurance, getting treatment might be impossible. Better just drink a little water, take an aspirin.
if it is on your right side down low by your hip kinda by your groin, it could be your appendix, take your hand and push in, if it feel better,then let go fast and if you get the sharp pain again it is your appendix, to to the hospital ASAP, and if not then make an appointment with your doc, and have your self checked out
The kidneys would be closer to your back. Your liver is in the upper right quadrant, and the appendix is the lower right quadrant. If the pain is in the extreme lower right side of your body, near/below the waistline, then you could have appendicitis. I would go to the doctor immediately.
any type of intense sharp pain in your side should be addressed by a doctor. No one can say for sure..see a physician. I have had kidney stones where I had INSTENSE SHARP pain in my side. but with a kidney stone you also have the sensation that you have to pee alot. If you dont have the urge to pee alot, then thats probably not the answer.


It could be a range of things....no one online can diagnose this.

if the pain is in the right lower abdomine about to the waist line then it is appendicitis and very dangerous if it is, GO TO THE E.R. RIGHT NOW DONT EVEN FINISH READING THIS!!!!! if its not then it could be a hernia or something less life threatening for the most part it may be a growong pain get checked out a.s.a.p.

I doubt its appendicitis??? its been going on for more than a week. Which side is it on? that would help. I know its weird but if its left side it could be constipation. It can hurt like crazy.
Sounds like appendicitis go get that checked out asap.
