Anybody with experience cleaning the heads and tape path on a Panasonic AG-DV2500? Can you advise on how?

Get several Q-tips and some isopropyl alcohol. Make sure the alcohol is free of perfumes or other junk.

Also, ensure that the alcohol is not dripping from the Q-tip. I usually dip the Q-tip %26amp; then flick my wrist to get rid of the excess.

Then just rub all of the important surfaces. Rotate the Q-tip as you go %26amp; replace with fresh Q-tips frequently. Also, be careful of loose cotton fibers.

If the Q-tips are especially fuzzy you can wash your hands, then spin the cotton tip between your finger tips in order to make the fibers lay down, before you start cleaning.Anybody with experience cleaning the heads and tape path on a Panasonic AG-DV2500? Can you advise on how?
The method described by Tom H is perfectly fine for the stationary tape path components but I would not recommend that you actually clean the rotating heads with a Q-Tip. The head are very delicate and can easily be sheared off by a loose fiber on the swab. If this happens it will cost several hundred dollars to repair.

For the video heads I would recommend that you put the alcohol on a clean white card, or thick white paper stock, and rotate the cylinder gently against it. Do not move the card / paper up or down during this procedure to avoid stressing the heads. You can then clean the lower half of the head cylinder (stationary part) with the swabs, being careful to keep them safely away from the heads.

Also, anhydrous isopropyl alcohol (no water) works best. If that is not available then use 90% isopropyl alcohol (clear).
