that's a big question! first time parents do not get a rehearsal most of it is instinct, much of it is so wrong, it is usually when the second child is born that you know what you could have done different with the first one, that's hindsight! it comes to us all (hopefully) it gets even better when you are a grandparent because you can look back and see things more clearly, but we all have to learn. i made so many mistakes with my firstborn lovely son, i was so young and i had no idea how to raise him, what a fool i was, thankfully he turned out to be a very good young man. what advice can i give you? do not give out idle threats to your children, mean what you say, for example, clear up your toys or they will be given to the charity shop, do not say that and not do it otherwise they will know that you will give in, its hard but it works believe me,
